How to Install Soft Close Concealed Hinges with a Beveled Door?

I'm looking to upgrade to soft close concealed hinges but ran into a bit of a problem. I picked up a Kreg jig for this project, but when I got home, I noticed there's a gap between the jig and my beveled door. I'm unsure about how to make sure I drill the holes correctly with this gap in mind. Should I factor in the distance from the edge of the door to where the jig contacts it? I can share pictures for clarity if that would help. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're facing a common issue with beveled doors. Definitely consider the gap when marking your spots for drilling. If your Kreg jig isn't sitting flat against the door, you might be misaligning your hole placement. Posting pictures could help folks give you specific advice. But in the meantime, you might want to adjust the jig setup or even use a shim to get it level before you drill!

Yeah, that makes sense! I think shimming could save you a lot of headaches. Just be careful measuring twice!

And remember, if it gets too tricky, you could always add a trim piece to cover any mistakes after drilling.

Consider using the Kreg jig to your advantage by adjusting it for the angle of the bevel. You may need to reposition the jig or re-check your measurements to ensure that you’re drilling in the right spot. If you can, try to upload those pictures—it could really help clarify the issue for others to offer better guidance!

Exactly! Also, if you’re measuring from the bevelled edge, just keep in mind that it may change how deep you need to drill into the door.

I agree, pics can definitely help! Sometimes seeing it makes all the difference.
