I've got a dark blue western-facing door that gets super hot later in the day, especially since it's behind a glass storm door. The heat radiates off it when you're nearby, and it's really affecting the temperature inside my house. Apart from painting it a lighter color or replacing it, does anyone have suggestions on how to address this issue?

First off, check if your door is insulated. If it sounds hollow when you knock on it, that’s likely your problem. Also, the combination of the dark door and the glass could be causing a greenhouse effect, so tinting the glass might help cool it down a bit.

Wouldn't window tint make it hotter since the door is already dark?
