How to Make the Most of the Bottom Space in a Packout System?

Hey everyone! I'm considering a packout system, but I'm not sure how to use the large bottom box efficiently. I find the drawer option better than the chest, but they both feel like just deep holes where things could get lost. I'm curious if anyone has ideas on how to utilize that space beyond just tossing in power tools and maybe a jacket. What do you keep in the bottom of your packout, and how do you organize it? Any creative tips would be super helpful!

I've set up my rolling drawer with all my big tools that don’t fit well anywhere else. I’ve got a dewalt impact and various Milwaukee tools in there along with batteries and chargers. It’s great because the drawer serves as a base for two three-drawer packouts where I keep smaller tools like screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches. It's well organized, and I can grab what I need easily without digging around!

I totally get your struggle with just having a ‘junk drawer’ at the bottom! I went with a modbox rolling drawer for added practicality. I built individualized tool kits with various drawer sizes, which made job efficiency skyrocket. It’s all about creating your ideal setup rather than piling stuff on top of each other!

Right? I've also made a system that allows me to have all my frequently used things accessible without having to unstack everything. It's way more efficient!

The beauty of the Packout is you can customize it however you like. I use my bottom boxes for heavier tools that are awkward to hang, like circular saws and planers. You can literally store anything your heart desires—or even wigs if you’re feeling silly! It's a flexible system, and most folks I know really appreciate it once they set it up right!
