How to Match 1950s Honey Stain for Interior Doors?

I'm trying to match the honey color stain of the interior doors in my 1950s house. All the doors have this specific finish, which I remember from my grandma's house, so I know it's a common style from that era. We're adding a new door and want it to blend in perfectly. Has anyone gone through this process or can recommend a stain and finish that will be a good match?

I tried to get a match with a sample I took in, but it didn’t work out. I was really hoping someone had the right color recommendation since this honey finish is pretty popular. If anyone has a specific stain to suggest, it would really help!

Where did you take your sample? Maybe I can suggest a better place if you let me know.

You might need to take a sample directly to a paint shop to get the best match. I've had good luck with smaller, local stores since they usually combine tech with a keen eye for color matching. They’ll look at the sample both with their tools and by hand, which can lead to a much closer match than just relying on the computer.

One option is to bring in a small piece of trim or something similar to a local paint shop. Sherwin Williams can color match stain pretty well if you bring raw wood for them to work with. Just keep in mind that it's more of a manual process than matching paint, so it might take some time!
