How to Mount Something on a Motor Shaft Without It Flying Off?

I've been working on a project and I'm struggling with mounting items on my motor shaft securely enough to prevent them from flying off, while still allowing for free rotation. I'm looking for suggestions, tips, or advice on how to achieve this. Positive input would be much appreciated!

A great option is to tap a hole in the neck of whatever you're attaching to your motor shaft and insert a grub screw. This will help secure it without being too tight. Just remember, if you're trying to connect plastic parts, they might not hold up too well. Also, fan motors typically have a 'D' shaped shaft that fits nicely with the fan blades, allowing for better stability when you tighten it down.
