How to Prevent Heat from Entering My Bathroom Through an Exhaust Fan?

Hey everyone! I have a bit of a situation with my bathroom exhaust fan. It doesn't have a housing and just vents straight into the attic, which is causing a ton of heat to spill into the bathroom. On some days, it gets up to 85°F in there! The fan is circular (Broan 505-B model), and I can't access the attic from where it's located. What are my options to tackle this heat problem? I've attached some pics if that helps!

If you're mainly trying to block the heat from the attic, one quick fix is to cover the fan with some plastic sheeting or tape for now. But if you want the fan to vent properly, you'll probably need to do some cutting and maybe get a little messy. By the way, did you know that if there’s no window in the bathroom, a fan is usually required for building code? Just something to think about if you ever have an inspector around!

Yeah, it came like this with no previous updates. I’ll probably need to hire someone to do it right eventually, but for now, I just want to stop the heat from coming in. I’m thinking of putting in a new fan and just holding off on venting it for now since we don’t use it much.
