Hey everyone! I just got some stall bars for my home gym, and I'm having a bit of trouble with the installation. The company recommends using drywall anchors with bolts if you don't have wooden studs to attach to (mine are metal). I've tried some anchors from Amazon, but they were pretty terrible. When I try to tighten the bolts, they just slide through the plastic threads, and it seems like the metal part doesn't hold at all. I'm wondering if I could secure long pieces of plywood to the wall using a bunch of normal drywall anchors and then attach the stall bars to the plywood instead. I really need them to be sturdy since I want to do pull-ups, dips, and rows. Any thoughts or advice?

It sounds like you might not be installing those toggle bolts correctly. Make sure to hold the metal part tightly against the back of the drywall while you're screwing it in. That should help keep it secure. Also, those toggle bolts shouldn't be plastic—definitely look for metal ones instead. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the plywood method either; it might not be as secure as you need for your workouts.
I agree with DIYer123. It looks like you're using the Snap Toggle type, which should be alright if installed right. Just make sure you pull the back plate snug against the wall before you snap the plastic guides in. Plywood could work, but it might not distribute weight well for pull-ups or dips, which could be risky.
