How to Properly Prune My Overgrown Grape Tomato Plant?

I have a grape tomato plant that has outgrown my expectations, and I'm running out of stakes to support it. I'm wondering how much I can cut back without harming the plant. If I were to cut back significantly—like half of it—will it still keep growing? My initial thought was to reduce it to one or two main vines to manage its growth better.

It's great that you're attentive to your grape tomato plant! You should definitely look into removing the suckers, which are the little shoots that grow between the main stem and branches. Thinning those out will help the plant direct energy to the fruit instead of excess foliage. Just be cautious—if you take too much away, it could affect its growth.

So, should I only focus on the suckers for the thinning, or is it okay to cut back some of the main stems too?
