I'm considering setting up a couple of poles in my backyard to help restrain some bamboo. My plan is to attach a strap about 6 feet above the ground to prevent the bamboo from leaning against my house. Has anyone tried something similar? If so, what are the best specifications for pole diameter, how deep should I bury the posts, and what size strap do you recommend?

Honestly, I’d advise against this. Bamboo spreads quickly, and if you're not careful, you'll find yourself dealing with seedlings all over your yard. Trust me, your neighbors won’t appreciate it either if it starts encroaching on their property! Better to find a non-invasive solution first.
It really depends on the type of bamboo you're dealing with. Some are more aggressive than others, so knowing the variety will help you decide how sturdy your setup needs to be. For standard options, a 4x4 inch post should work well, and burying at least 2 feet deep is usually a good call for stability.
