How to Properly Water My House Plants?

Hey everyone! I have two house plants: a dracaena sanderiana in a 6-inch clay pot and a leafy plant (I think it might be a peperomia obtusifolia) in a 5-inch pot. I'm using Miracle-Gro moisture control potting mix for both. The 5-inch pot doesn't have any drainage at the bottom, but I've placed a gravel layer in it. I'm a bit confused about my watering routine because I water the dracaena until water runs out from the bottom, but I've been checking it daily and the top inch of soil is completely dry. I know daily watering isn't ideal, so I'm looking for some tips on proper care and watering techniques to keep my plants healthy. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

For your dracaena, try watering it from the bottom instead of pouring on top. Just place the pot in a shallow saucer of water and let it soak up through the drainage holes. Make sure to let it dry out almost completely between waterings; they are more likely to be overwatered than underwatered, but they can handle it. As for your leafy plant, it definitely needs drainage holes. Without them, you risk root rot. If you can, tackle that with a new pot!

Thanks for the tip! How do I go about watering from the bottom? I've just been using a cup to pour water in and misting them both.
