Hey everyone! I'm feeling a bit confused about how to water my plants the right way. I've heard that using tap water might not be the best option, but I'm not sure what else to use. Should I be buying bottled water, boiling the tap water, or maybe collecting rainwater? I don't want to hurt my plants with the wrong water practices. Currently, I've been boiling tap water and letting it sit for a day before using it, but I'm wondering if there's a better method. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

It really depends on the type of plants you have. My calatheas and carnivorous plants need distilled or rainwater because tap water gives them issues. So, it’s worth checking what your plants need specifically. If in doubt, you could always do a test with some plants on tap and see how they react compared to distilled or collected rainwater.
Right? It’s all about knowing their needs.
Honestly, if you're overthinking it, don't! For most houseplants, tap water is totally fine. Just let it sit for a few hours so the chlorine can evaporate. I've got a collection and they all drink tap water, and they're thriving!
Totally agree! I did notice my plants preferred it when I let it sit like that.
Echoing that! If I can drink it, so can they!
Most plants actually do just fine with tap water! A few picky ones, like peace lilies and some others, might not enjoy it as much, but for the majority, tap water works just perfectly.
Right?! I always thought they were a little too high-maintenance!
Can you believe how dramatic peace lilies can be? Mine seems to thrive just fine. ?

Isn’t it wild how some plants are so sensitive? My carnivorous plants are definitely not fans of tap water!
