How to Re-Stain My Weathered Deck Without Sanding?

I have a two-year-old deck at my cabin in the mountains where the snow really takes a toll. Originally, I used a transparent stain when I installed the deck. Now that it's looking weathered and discolored, I'm planning to restain it. I want to know if I can just pressure wash it and then apply new stain, or do I need to sand everything down first? I've seen mixed information online about this, so I'd appreciate any advice!

You can definitely power wash the deck to remove any dirt and old stain particles. Just make sure to let it dry fully before staining again. It's usually not necessary to sand unless there are rough patches or a lot of old stain left behind. Good luck with your restaining!
