I recently repotted my plants but forgot to wet the soil beforehand. Now, I've noticed that the water isn't being absorbed from the bottom, and it's been like this for weeks. I'm wondering if I should take the plants out, mix the dry soil in a container with water, and then replant them. What's the best way to fix this situation? Hydrating the soil feels like it's taking forever!

Hey! It sounds like you're dealing with some tricky soil. If your mix is primarily peat or coco coir, it can really resist water at first. A good method is to spray the top of the soil lightly every ten minutes until it starts soaking in. After that, pour a bit of water into each pot and let it absorb. You might need to repeat this a few times, but once it takes, try to keep the pots in a bit of water to help with drainage.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve got some Fox Farm Happy Frog with worm casting too. How would I use any fertilizer if the soil won't soak properly?
