How to Reseal My Bathtub Properly?

I'm looking to reseal my bathtub and I want to make sure I'm doing it right. I think I'll need one of those oddly shaped hook scrapers to clean behind it and maybe a wire brush? I'll definitely use a face mask for safety. What tools and materials should I prepare? Also, can anyone recommend the best sealant to use?

Are you planning to re-caulk just the lower part of the tub? That’s a smart move if it’s mostly worn out down there. You definitely want to clean out all the old caulk first for a good seal. And yeah, don’t forget a mask—those fumes can be nasty!

Yes, I just want to focus on the bottom and the side where it’s peeling. Thanks for the tip!

It looks like you are on the right track! For resealing, a hook scraper is perfect for getting out old caulk. You might also want to grab some silicone remover and a caulk gun if you don't already have one. As for sealants, 100% silicone is usually the best choice for bathrooms because it's waterproof and flexible. Just make sure to get a mildew-resistant one!

I agree, silicone is a must! Just remember to let it cure fully before using the tub again, usually a day or two.
