I'm in the process of replacing my gas stove with an induction cooktop. There's a shut-off valve for the gas line, but I'm unsure whether I should just turn it off or if I need to have the flexible gas hose removed and capped by a professional. Looking for advice on the best approach!

It's a good idea to have a professional remove the flex line and cap it off properly. Even with the valve closed, there's always a risk of leaks or someone accidentally turning it back on. Typically, this service shouldn't cost more than $50.
You could technically turn off the valve and remove the hose yourself, but since this switch is permanent, I'd recommend getting a cap installed to avoid any issues. Just be cautious about leaving it disconnected for an extended period.
