I have a somewhat unusual question, but given the state of the world today, it feels relevant. If chaos were to break out, what steps would you take to protect your home, particularly your windows from potential intruders? This has been on my mind for a while, and I'd appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks!

In Florida, we have a lot of solutions for hurricanes, which can double as protection for chaotic situations. I'd suggest keeping spare plywood and some fasteners handy to board up your windows. However, if intruders are really determined, you might want to think about investing in a high-velocity projectile system and get some training on how to use it. Safety first, right?
Don't underestimate the power of plywood and screws for quick and easy window fortification!
Honestly, if a group is determined to break into your home, there's not much you can do to stop them. The best strategy is just to make your home less appealing to intruders than your neighbors'. They'll often move on if they see it's too difficult to get in!
I've installed burglar-proof windows and doors on the lower part of my house. It really gives me peace of mind knowing that those barriers are in place, especially in uncertain times!
Besides having a panic room, there’s really not much you can do if someone is adamant about getting in. The goal should be to slow them down. For example, board up your windows but leave small openings, and even think about digging a trench around your property to trip them up. You could also think about placing caltrops or sharpened sticks near the windows. Also, having solar-powered cameras can give you some early warnings to prepare yourself.

Thanks for the insight! I'm definitely leaning towards SHTF scenarios.
