How to Securely Mount a Large MDF Prince Symbol on a Post?

I'm working on creating a 6' x 5' Prince symbol out of 3/4" MDF for a project. I need to attach it vertically to a round aluminum post, but I'm unsure about the best method. I've been thinking about using carriage bolts to hide the heads, but I'm concerned about the MDF's strength. Any advice on how to securely mount this without it falling apart?

Attaching that big symbol to a pole sounds like a fun project! Just a heads up, MDF isn't the strongest option, especially since it’s prone to breaking when bolts go through. You might want to consider using plywood instead since it’s layered and generally much sturdier. Keep the weight in mind; that sheet can really add up! If you have to stick with MDF, I suggest using some reinforcing techniques.

Totally understand the concern! I worry about how heavy it is too. I’m actually mounting it to a short dance platform in a classroom, so it needs to be secure.
