I just bought a new home and we're planning a kitchen remodel in two weeks. The contractor wants to charge $2500 just to get rid of our old kitchen cabinets, but I've heard that I might be able to sell them or give them away for free if I post online. Has anyone done this successfully? Where did you post them, like Marketplace? The cabinets are cherry wood from 2003 and still in pretty good shape, but they don't fit our new style. We also have about two slabs of cultured marble from the countertops to get rid of. Any advice?

Facebook Marketplace is a great option! I've seen plenty of people willing to take old cabinets off your hands for free if you just list them there. Plus, there are so many house flippers always on the lookout for deals, so you might get lucky! If you’re in a decent area, someone will definitely want them for their garage or workshop.
I'd suggest keeping a few if you can! When I remodeled, some of my cabinets found new homes in my laundry room and office after a fresh coat of paint. It really helps add storage space in unexpected places!
Consider reaching out to Habitat for Humanity. In many places, they can send a truck to pick up cabinets and other items for their ReStore, but just be patient—sometimes it can take a bit for them to come out.
