How to Set Up RS485 Wireless Connection for a Power Meter?

Asked By SunshineLover99 On

I recently installed a Solis on-grid inverter, and now I need to set up a power meter. However, the distance between the mains and the inverter is too great to run an RS485 cable directly. I'm aware that it's possible to connect wirelessly by using a transmitter for the RS485 output from the meter and a receiver for the inverter's RS485 port. What equipment do I need for this wireless setup? The distance is about 15 meters, and there's a wall in the way.

You'll want to get an RS485 wireless bridge or repeater for this setup. It can help you avoid the hassle of wiring everything. Just make sure to get one that covers your distance and can handle any obstacles like walls. You might have to do a bit of wiring at both ends, but this will simplify things overall. Good luck!

Can you suggest specific brands or models of wireless bridges?
