How to Shock My Well When I Can’t Find the Well Cap?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to shock my well because it's giving off a really strong sulfur smell and taste, despite having a sulfur/iron filter that was just serviced last year. I bought a Well Safe kit but I can't seem to locate the well cap anywhere on my property. The only thing I can find is a blue metal pipe protruding from the ground. If that's the cap, I'm unsure how to remove it without damaging anything. Any advice or tips on how to proceed? I just want to be able to turn on a faucet without smelling like rotten eggs!

You might have what's called a surface well, which could mean your well is buried somewhere. A good idea would be to trace the supply line from the pump back to where the well should be. That might lead you to the cap or what you need to access it.

It looks like the rubber cap on the right could be the one you're looking for, but it seems small. Just a heads up, don’t remove the bolts completely—just loosen them! If you end up needing to cut the plastic pipe, consider installing a union afterward. If you’re uncertain, getting someone with more experience to help could be wise. I’ve seen helpful info on H2O Mechanic's YouTube videos!
