I need some advice on the best way to trim 1/4" off the long edge of four narrow wood pieces, each 3 inches wide. I only have a circular saw and no access to a table saw or band saw, which would make this much easier. I'm looking for a reliable method to make these cuts evenly and repeatably. I've seen saw guides that work well for wider materials, but I'm struggling to figure out how to use them effectively for these narrow pieces.

Using a circular saw for narrow pieces can be tricky, but I’d suggest creating a track jig. You can make one out of a piece of wood and some double-sided tape or hot glue to hold everything in place, since clamping small pieces doesn’t work well. Another option is to use a jigsaw for more control and then smooth it out with a hand plane when you’re done.

That’s a good idea! Gluing the wood together for a track sounds manageable. Thanks!
