Hey everyone! I'm replacing the exterior door on my garage, which is internal to my garden area. The current door is slightly over 31.5 inches wide, but I can only find 32-inch slab doors, so I need to trim 0.25 inches off each side. I can't replace the jamb since it's tiled around the frame, and I don't want to damage that. I'm considering getting a table saw for this job, but I'm not sure about the size or brand. I have a good amount of renovation experience, but hanging a door has always been a hassle for me. Any tips on the best way to trim and hang this door?

If you already have a circular saw, grab a rip fence and a new paneling blade. A planer could work too, but it can be tricky if you’re not used to it. Running a door through a table saw isn’t a walk in the park; I’ve done it, but it requires a big, heavy saw and a couple of friends to help out.

I do have a circular saw, but it’s not great for precision work. Should I just get a better one, or would you recommend a planer instead? Looks like the table saw is not the way to go.
