Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle! I'm building a desk for my son's birthday coming up next weekend, and I realized that one of the assembled plywood drawers is about 1/8" too wide. I used 1/2" plywood and glued it up using the quarter quarter quarter method. The drawers are roughly 4" high. I have a compact table saw and I'm wondering if I can just run the drawers through it to trim off 1/16" from the sides. Is this a good idea, or should I consider hand planing them instead? Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks for reading!

If you're using drawer slides, it might be better to cut a dado for those, so you don’t expose any layers under the veneer. But honestly, just running the drawers through the table saw should work fine—just watch out for any nails. If the sides are a lot shorter than the depth, consider using a sled or miter gauge instead of just the fence for safety reasons. Better safe than sorry!
