How to Turn an Old Telephone into a Funky Microphone for a Live Performance?

I'm an artist with a unique idea for a performance where I want to use an old telephone as a microphone. However, I'm not going for that Lo-Fi telephone sound; I just love the aesthetic of it. ChatGPT suggested using a Shure SM57 microphone capsule connected to an XLR. I'm pretty new to electronics—almost no experience—so I'm unsure if this is the best route or how to actually do it. Also, if there are options to buy a ready-made solution, that would be awesome!

One quick idea is to pop a lav mic inside the phone! These mics are battery-powered and can reach up to 300 feet without any wires hanging out. Check out some options like these: Neewer, Professional Wireless Lavalier, or a Plug-Play version. Just search for them online!

This seems like a really easy way to go, but I'm a bit worried about the sound quality for live performances.
