I'm looking to replace an old non-electrical doorbell for someone. The current setup has a clunky mechanical button outside and no power source inside, so when you press it, the sound of the bell is really muffled and barely audible, especially since it's located at the bottom of a staircase and the person living there is on the second floor. I've checked out a lot of options, but most doorbells seem to require hard wiring or internet, which isn't possible in this case. Ideally, I'd like a battery-operated doorbell with a receiver that can be placed upstairs. Does anyone know if such a product exists?

A wireless doorbell sounds like your best bet! I installed a cheap one from Amazon at my old place. It didn't need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, just powered by batteries. I had two chimes—one on the main floor and another upstairs. It cost around $50 and worked perfectly without any issues! Check out Home Depot! They have several brands of wireless doorbells that run on batteries and communicate using radio frequencies, so there's no need for Wi-Fi. That might be a simple solution for you!
