I have a single pole switch in my attic that I need to replace, and I'm looking for some advice before I call an electrician. There are three wires connected to it: one black wire that's backstabbed and two grey wires that are screwed on each side. I haven't checked the wiring with a multimeter yet, but I'm curious if anyone can help me understand how to wire a new switch, given that it will all be connected using screw terminals. Thanks in advance!

Just a heads up, before you do any wiring, it might be a good idea to check if there's power going to those wires with a multimeter. That way, you know you’re working safely! But if you’re confident and want to go ahead, follow the previous advice and it should work out just fine!
Sounds like you’ve got a standard setup for an attic light. Just to clarify, this isn’t a three-way switch, right? You’ve got one wire coming in (line feed) and another going to your light fixture as the switched hot. When you wire up the new switch, connect the black wire to one of the screw terminals and the two grey wires should be attached to the other terminals. Make sure everything is snug and secure!
Yep, definitely not a three-way switch. Thanks for confirming that!

Great tip! I’ll definitely grab the multimeter before diving in.
