How Worried Should I Be About Forgetting to Refill My Parents’ Water Softener?

I've been taking care of my parents' house while they've been away since January, and I completely forgot about the water softener until now. With my ADHD, I sometimes overlook things like this. I'm curious to know what kind of damage I might have caused, or if it's not that big of a deal if I take care of it from here on out.

You're probably okay! Hard water isn't a huge disaster for a home; it's mostly just a bit annoying. Just refill the softener and don't stress too much about it. Most people won’t notice much difference unless they really pay attention.

That's good to know! How can I tell if hard water is affecting things? I haven't seen any signs yet.

Exactly! Just get that softener filled up and you should be just fine.

Just fill it up with salt and go on with your day. It might cause a little staining in the tubs over time, but that’s nothing a good cleaning can’t fix!

Phew, that sounds manageable!

Most hard water issues take a while to build up. You might see a bit of mineral buildup, but it's really not noticeable at first. You'll be just fine if you get it sorted now!

Great! I feel better knowing that I should be okay.
