Hey everyone! I've almost wrapped up my thin brick veneer installation on drywall (I used cement board before laying the bricks). Now I'm looking for some creative suggestions to add a rustic touch with wood or metal accents. I want to install one row of this decorative element above the finished brick line before continuing with more bricks. I've attached a picture of my current wall and an idea I found online. Any thoughts? Thanks a ton!

Also, great idea with the construction adhesive! It really holds well for this type of application. If you're looking for quick results, barn wood is a fantastic choice too—you're on the right track with that! Just make sure to match the stain with the bricks so everything flows nicely. Good luck with your project!
Finding the right type of wood for this can be tricky! A great way to get that rustic vibe is to find someone who's renovating an old house and see if they have any weathered wood pieces they could spare. If that's tough to find, you can also try using oak and aging it by soaking it in water and then drying it out. I’ve seen people put a piece in a dehydrator for a while to get that perfect worn texture. Once you have that look, just slap on a stain you like. To install, construction adhesive works wonders, and a few masonry nails will really help nail down that rustic charm.
