I recently bought a new exhaust fan to replace an old one that vented into the attic. I'm looking to correctly vent it to the outside wall instead, but I'm really afraid of heights and want to avoid using an extension ladder to make an opening outside. Is there an easier way to install the exterior vent from inside the house? I'm comfortable drilling a hole from the inside because it's just in the attic. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just like Techie said, you really do have to go outside to install it correctly. Perhaps check with a friend who could help out, or think about getting a longer ladder if you have one. How high are we talking about?
Unfortunately, the exterior vent has to be mounted from outside. Most vent assemblies require you to slide them in from the outside and then secure them. It's kind of a must, especially to prevent water from leaking in. If you’re worried about height, maybe consider hiring someone for that part?

Yeah, safety first! Even if you can drill from the inside, you’ll need to seal it properly from the outside to keep everything watertight.
