Is $1,200 a Fair Price for My Master Bedroom Remodel?

Hey everyone! I received an estimate for remodeling my master bedroom, which includes installing grey wood flooring over existing tile, removing the popcorn ceiling, and repainting the whole room. The total cost quoted was $1,200. I wanted to get your thoughts on whether this is a reasonable price before I make a decision. Thanks!

Honestly, $1,200 seems a bit low for all that work. Just removing popcorn ceilings can be tricky, and for a room that size, $1,000 just for that wouldn't be crazy. Plus, if you're looking at installing wood flooring, I'd expect the cost to be at least $5 per square foot, which adds up quickly. And painting isn’t just about the paint cost either; it's a big job with a lot of prep involved.

That price sounds pretty fair, but make sure you're clear on a couple of things. Does that quote include the cost of materials? And are they licensed contractors? Those details can really make a difference!

Yeah, the estimate covers them buying the materials, but I'm not sure if they're licensed since they're a friend of my grandma's I haven't met yet.

Does seem suspiciously cheap, right? Make sure to clarify if the price includes buying the wood flooring and how big your bedroom is. Those factors can really impact the overall cost!
