Is $2000 a Fair Price for a Custom Oak Dog Crate?

Hey everyone! I'm considering ordering a custom oak dog crate for my German Shepherd. The craftsman quoted me $2000 for materials and labor, and mentioned it would take several weeks to complete. I'm just wondering if that price is reasonable for this type of furniture piece.

That price could be worth it if the crate is really high-quality and sturdy enough for your German Shepherd. It’s important to consider the builder's skill as well. If it looks great and lasts, $2k might actually be a steal! Just make sure it's solidly constructed for a strong pup.

Honestly, it really depends on size and design. In some areas, $2000 might seem a bit steep, while in others, it’s a great deal. You might want to shop around and see if you can find similar options. Also, if it's just a simple crate, it shouldn't take weeks to make; some can whip one up in a day!

Thanks for the input! The guy seems a bit slow, but he's just a hobbyist. I'll definitely look for other options.
