I recently received a quote for $22,000 to install a heat pump with four ductless cassettes in my 1600 sq ft house. I'm wondering if this price is reasonable or if I'm getting ripped off. Has anyone else had experience with pricing like this?

The price sounds pretty reasonable, especially if you consider all the elements that go into ductless systems. Depending on the specifics, like the BTUs needed for your space and labor costs, it’s not outrageous. Just make sure to check out a couple more quotes to get a solid comparison.
Location and home setup play a huge role in pricing. I’m in the Seattle area, and what you’re being quoted aligns with what I’ve seen recently. If you’re in a different region, prices can vary significantly, so researching what’s typical in your area is a smart move!
I managed to install a heat pump myself for about $1800 including labor for the final setup and inspection. If you're handy, you might save a lot going the DIY route. But, for a hassle-free installation, sometimes it’s worth spending the extra cash!
