Is 30-Minute Epoxy a Good Choice for Mortise and Tenon Joints?

I'm working on a walnut shaker-style dining room table and need some advice. Some of the mortise and tenon joints are a bit looser than I'd like. They're not rattling or anything, but there's not much friction in a few of them. I'm considering using 30-minute epoxy to fill the gaps instead of regular wood glue. Is that a bad idea?

I totally get the hesitation. Epoxy is great, but just keep in mind that it might be more noticeable than wood glue once everything is finished. Some wood glues blend in better after drying, but if your parts are already pre-finished, you should be fine as long as you're careful with the squeeze-out.

Using epoxy could be a solid choice since it fills gaps better than wood glue, especially if your joints are on the loose side. Plus, the slower setting time is helpful for tricky glue-ups. Just be cautious and ensure you're wiping away any excess, as it can leave visible marks after finishing.
