Is $3000 for Arbor Vitae Installation a Fair Price?

Hey everyone! I just got a quote from a local landscaper for planting 12 Arbor Vitae trees, each 6-7 feet tall, as privacy shrubs along my fence—6 on each side. The price came to $250 per tree, totaling $3000, plus an additional $200 for mulch beds. I'm located in eastern Pennsylvania. Does this seem like a fair deal to you?

That price seems reasonable to me! I assume that includes labor for planting since you mentioned the trees will be set up along your fence. Definitely a decent deal if all the work is included.

Pricing can vary based on region and tree quality. I work at a retail garden center, and we sell 15-gallon emerald Arbor Vitaes in that height for about $227 each. We also charge for installation, about half the cost of the plant, plus a trip fee based on distance, which comes with soil conditioner, starter fertilizer, and a one-year warranty. Just make sure your landscaper is legit and not just a "mow and blow" type. You want someone who knows what they’re doing!

Thanks for the insight! I'll definitely check their credentials and see if they offer any guarantees.
