Is $33k a Reasonable Labor Quote for Home Renovation?

Hey everyone, I need your advice on a labor quote I received for renovating my home. We're planning to completely gut the two bedrooms and bathroom in our 960 sq. ft. house. We'll handle the demolition ourselves and buy the materials, but the contractor's quote for labor alone is $33,000. Do you think that's a fair price?

I agree with HandyMandy. It’s tough to say without more details, but that seems like a reasonable range for labor costs. Have you checked what other quotes you received?

Still waiting on a couple of other estimates, so I'll compare them once I get those in.

Honestly, $33k for just labor does seem a bit steep, but it really depends on the scope of the work. A good rule of thumb is about $10k per room for labor on average. If they’re providing quality work, it might not be that off base, but definitely get a more detailed estimate if you can.
