Is $500 a Good Deal for a Used Jet JJ6CSDX?

I'm thinking about buying a used Jet JJ6CSDX for $500. The seller used it for woodworking before retiring, and it looks to be in good condition. I noticed he upgraded it with helical cutting heads. What are your thoughts on this price and the machine itself? Does anyone here own one?

I sold a straight version of this for $650 recently! You're getting it for a great price. Just bring some safety glasses and test it out with wood to ensure it cuts well.

That’s a steal for sure! Unless there’s something seriously wrong, I’d grab it. Do keep in mind, though, you might find yourself wanting an 8" jointer later on.

Definitely a solid deal, especially with the helical cutters! Just make sure it runs smoothly and check the cast iron for any issues. That upgrade is worth a lot, almost as much as the asking price!

Totally agree! The helical head alone can cost almost the entire $500. Definitely worth a look at the individual cutters too.
