I found a DW735 thickness planer on Marketplace selling for $550. It's supposedly in great condition, but I feel like this price might be too high since I could get a different brand for less. Should I buy it at this price, try to negotiate down significantly, or just pass on it? What do you think a fair price would be if it's really in the advertised condition?

If you're considering buying new, they're about $599 on Amazon right now. At that price, you might as well buy new and skip the worry about the used condition. But if you do go for a used one, just make sure it's really functional and check for any included attachments!
Yeah, that's too high for a used one. I got lucky and snagged mine for $400 on Marketplace after it was listed for $450. My advice would be to look for a cheaper used one, and then invest in some helical blades to really enhance its performance. The difference is amazing!
I think $550 is a bit steep. I picked up mine used for around 450 CAD without any tables, and it definitely needed some work. You can find them new for less than $700 CAD (about $550 USD), so I'd suggest going for a new one with a warranty instead. Keep an eye out for deals and maybe get a price match at Home Depot. Just remember to check the used ones thoroughly; I had some stripped screws to deal with!
