I got a quote for $6300 to install an oversized patio door in a garage door opening. The door itself costs around $7700, and the total project includes stucco work, interior adjustments, and a build down to lower the opening by a foot. When everything adds up, the total is nearly $14,000! I want to convert the space into a room since I'm moving back home, but it's really dark with no windows. Is the quote reasonable, or should I seek more estimates?

In 2023, I had a similar install done for about $5000 at Home Depot, and other quotes I got were around $15,000. Just keep in mind, your door is larger, but still worth checking them out for possible savings!
