I'm planning to replace the flooring in my upstairs bedrooms and hallway, which currently have hardwood. I want to lay down 6mm LVP over the hardwood but will stop before the staircase, using a transition strip. Is 6mm LVP too thick for this? Any advice on what I should consider before going ahead?

I’ve installed LVP in multiple places, and I agree — it’s not too thick. That said, I personally wouldn’t cover real hardwood with it. But hey, if it suits your needs, go for it! The transition strip will manage the height difference perfectly. Plus, if you want to check out my profile, I’ve shared loads of DIY projects that might help you out in avoiding contractor fees!
