Is 731 Woodworks Just a Tool Salesman Now?

I've been following 731 Woodworks and noticed a trend where it seems like he's more focused on reviewing tools rather than actually showing how to use them or create projects. Has anyone else had this experience? I'm curious if there's any content of his that dives into real woodworking or if it's all just about the tools now?

I used to think his channel had great beginner content, but he’s really leaned into the sponsorships and tool promotions lately. I get that creators need to earn a living, but when all you see are reviews and no actual woodworking tips, it becomes disappointing. There are plenty of other channels that focus more on crafting now that I've found much more enjoyable.

Agreed! I've started following some newer woodworkers who focus more on actual builds rather than just selling tools.

Exactly! I appreciate a good tool review, but I want to see how to use them too!

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It feels like his channel has shifted from genuine woodworking projects to promoting tools. He does well with tool reviews since they’re more lucrative, which makes sense for him, but it can be frustrating for viewers looking for actual craft tips.

Right? The clickbait titles and constant sponsorships just make it less appealing.

Exactly! I used to enjoy his builds, but now it feels more like an infomercial than anything else.

I think he started losing his way a while back. I can’t even remember the last time he built something useful. His tool reviews can still have some worth, but they dominate the channel now. It’s like you’re just watching ads for tools instead of learning anything new.

Totally! And when I see a 'review,' I wonder how much is about the product and how much is simply him trying to sell it.

For sure. It’s all about making money now rather than sharing real woodworking knowledge.
