I'm looking for some advice! I need to install gutters and received a quote for $2,000 for seamless gutters, which seems fair. The roofer also pointed out some decaying wood and recommended aluminum capping, then referred another contractor who quoted $5,000 to wrap all the fascia, rakes, frieze boards, and corner posts. My total comes to $7,000. Do I really need all this extra work to get my gutters put in? Would it be better to hire one company for both the gutters and the extra work? Also, is that price reasonable? I know there could be additional costs for replacing wood. They've included debris removal in the quote. Thanks for any insights!

It's tough to give specific advice without more details, like if you’re in a single or two-story house or seeing any significant rot. Just yesterday, I got seamless 6" gutters installed on a two-story home for about $2.8k. Your gutter quote seems in line with my experience, but the $5k for restoration might indicate there are some serious issues that need addressing.

Gotcha! It is two stories. I checked some average prices online and the gutter quote seems reasonable. For the restoration, I’m aware the fascia board might need replacing, but I didn’t expect capping all the wood. This feels like a separate project, right? Appreciate your help!
