Hey everyone! I'm planning a small kitchen project and need to hire someone to help out with labor costs. I'm looking to remove my old sink and faucet and install a new drop-in fireclay sink along with a new faucet. The good news is that the current sink cutout size and hole spacing are compatible with the new installations. I won't need any countertop work, a garbage disposal, and only minor plumbing adjustments since I'm moving from a double basin to a single center drain. The quote I received is between $800 and $1000 just for labor. Does that seem reasonable to you? What did you expect to pay for something like this?

If you're looking for a fair price, I’d say somewhere around $500 total for labor and materials would be reasonable. But remember, if you’re going for high-end fixtures, that might change the cost significantly.
Honestly, that quote seems a bit steep to me, especially if it's at the higher end around $1000. I would recommend getting at least two more quotes to see if there's a big discrepancy in pricing.
In my opinion, this is way overpriced! For an experienced person, this job should only take about 2 to 3 hours. I'd expect a more reasonable charge for that timeframe.
So are you saying the more skilled someone is, the less they should be paid? I think pricing should reflect their expertise, not just the time!

You're right about fixtures, but without knowing exactly what kind they chose, it's hard to gauge if that price is justified.
