I just received a quote for $8200 from a pest control company for installing 10 inches of blown-in cellulose insulation in my attic, which covers my 1593 sq ft, one-story house. That quote does sound way high! Back in 2020, I had my attic done with cellulose and air sealing for about $800. Sure, prices might have increased since then, but I'd definitely suggest reaching out to companies that specialize in insulation rather than pest control. They might offer better deals and expertise.
For a house like yours, it should take around 4 hours max to do the job. Have you considered doing it yourself? You can rent the blower from Home Depot, and it’ll only cost you about $1K for materials if you’re up for a DIY project.
