Is $9,000 a Fair Price for a Sliding Door Installation?

I'm in the market for a new sliding door and received a quote from Renewal by Andersen for $9,000. That seems pretty high, especially since I can find sliding doors at Home Depot for around $2,000. I'm assuming installation would be an additional couple of thousand. Has anyone else dealt with this? What are your thoughts or recommendations?

I agree with the crowd—Renewal is known for high prices. I had a terrible experience with them too. Just be cautious and maybe check out some local options or independent contractors. You'll likely find much better deals and service.

Yeah, that sounds excessive! When I was shopping for a patio door last year, I ended up getting an 8 ft sliding door installed for about $4,700. It's from Sunrise, which is now part of MI Windows and Doors, and the quality has been great! They really hooked me up. What area are you in?

Definitely get more quotes! Renewal by Andersen tends to be way overpriced, so I wouldn't even use their quote as a benchmark. You're better off looking at local contractors for a more reasonable price.
