I just received a landscaping quote of $15.5k plus tax for a project that includes supplying and planting 17 trees and 54 different plants and shrubs. The work also involves creating a mulch bed around my side yard (approximately 25'x95'), removing a small 5' tree, extending downspout drains, and laying down pavers. I've noticed that the markup on the trees compared to a nearby wholesaler is around 33%, and the labor cost for the project is $6,885. Is this quote reasonable? I was expecting something closer to $10k.

You might want to get more quotes, but honestly, that price doesn’t sound too bad in my area. It really varies depending on where you live. Some places could easily charge you more for similar work!
From my experience, that quote seems quite reasonable. Just the trees and planting labor could easily cost around $15k on their own where I live, not to mention the added work with the pavers and downspouts.
Sounds like a good deal, especially for all those trees and plants. I was quoted $20k for just putting in irrigation, which was a small fraction of the material cost. You might want to double-check what's included and see if you get a warranty with it, but overall it sounds fair.
Does the quote include a warranty for the plants? That can be a big deal!

Totally agree! In my state, labor and plants can be a lot pricier.
