I found a 20V string trimmer on the marketplace for $100 that comes with a 5Ah battery. I'm curious if this is a worthwhile deal. The seller mentioned they replaced the head with one that uses nylon blades, but I've never tried those before. I'll mainly be using it for light trimming around a playground, some trees, and buildings. What do you think?

I have a 20V trimmer, and while I don't absolutely love it, it does the job. My major issue has been the balance; the head feels too heavy. The 5Ah battery doesn't really help with that. But reloading string is super easy, and it's quieter than gas models, which is nice. For the price, it's not terrible, just be aware of the balance issue.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of those bladed heads for trimmers. They were designed for flexible plastic lines for a reason—they just seem risky to me. Plus, buying used tools can be dicey, especially batteries since you don’t know how they're treated. Right now, you can grab a new 20V trimmer at Bomgaars for $179, which includes a free 5Ah battery and a warranty. It’s worth considering since you’ll have peace of mind with a brand-new battery!
If your trimming needs are light, then $100 for the tool and battery isn't bad. I switched to a 60V model myself and love it, but the original head on the 20V does need replacing, and I upgraded to a Husqvarna T25. Just something to keep in mind!
