Hey everyone! I'm really interested in picking up woodworking and I finally have some time off to dive into it instead of going on a trip. The issue is that I live in NYC where space is limited for things like having a backyard or owning power tools. I'm a total newbie and I'm hoping to learn enough to build cabinets, shelves, and basic furniture for my future home, as well as fix any wooden items I have. I'm considering a basic woodworking class that spans four days, where the ultimate goal is to build a side table. They cover things like choosing lumber, using power tools, and joinery. So I'm wondering, is investing in this class worth it, or could I just teach myself via YouTube like many suggest? Thanks for the advice! ?

I say go for it! A class can really enhance your learning and you’ll bond with fellow woodworking enthusiasts. Plus, being taught by someone experienced will give you insights that you just can't get from YouTube.
