Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade from my DCD777 and I think a hammer drill might be just what I need. I'm considering the DCD806, which is priced at $147 on Amazon. Do you all think this is a solid choice for everyday use? I want it mainly for lighter masonry drilling, like setting anchors in stucco or concrete when necessary. And just to ask, is $147 a fair price for just the tool?

The DCD805 and DCD806 are solid drills, especially for light to medium tasks. I get frustrated when people recommend SDS drills every time a hammer drill is mentioned. A hammer drill works just fine for what you're looking to do, and they aren’t always necessary for smaller jobs. I've been using my DCD799 hammer drill at work for the occasional small concrete job, and it hasn't disappointed me. Just grab the tool that fits your needs best without overcomplicating things!

Totally agree! It's all about the task at hand. I have various drills depending on what I need, but most of the time a hammer drill covers the basics without needing to pull out more expensive options.
