Is a Jigsaw Necessary If I Already Have a Circular Saw and Multi-Tool?

I'm fully equipped with Dewalt's brushless tools, including a combi hammer drill, impact driver, SDS drill, several other tools, and importantly, a circular saw. I used to have an old Bosch jigsaw that I rarely used because I found the circular saw to be more effective for the jobs I tackled. Now that I've upgraded all my tools to the latest Dewalt models, I'm considering whether I actually need to buy a jigsaw. Can anyone suggest home DIY tasks where a jigsaw might be the better choice over a circular saw or multi-tool?

Only buy a jigsaw if you genuinely need one! It’s not worth it to impulse buy tools. If you think you might use it, consider holding off until a project comes up where it fits better than your current tools.

Yeah, if you find a killer deal at a garage sale, then maybe it's worth it to snag one!

A jigsaw is really handy for making curves and shapes! Although you could use a multi-tool for that, the cuts are usually pretty rough. If you're doing trim work or any finishing touches, a jigsaw shines, especially for those tricky L cuts or when working with sheet goods.

Using a jigsaw can be great for cutting out intricate shapes or making circular cuts, especially if you don’t have a hole saw. I still pull mine out sometimes for specific projects, like cutting flooring around fixtures, since it gives a cleaner finish than a multi-tool in those situations.

Totally, a jigsaw definitely has its moments! It’s especially useful for scribing curves or detailing work.
