Hey everyone! So, here's the deal: my wife has a habit of emptying her car into our garage, leaving clothes, bags, and random stuff all over my workbench and the floor. Instead of fighting it, I thought it might be easier to find a way to organize all this. I'm considering buying a used kitchen base cabinet from Facebook Marketplace to use as a sorting table for her things before we put them away. But I'm wondering, is this a bad idea? Will kitchen cabinets hold up in a garage that's somewhat exposed to the elements? I'd like to avoid getting specific garage cabinets since I can easily find kitchen counters to use. What do you think?

Using a used kitchen base cabinet sounds like a great idea! They can really add some organization to your space. Just to be safe, consider sealing the outside and underside with some Kilz primer to prevent water damage. Then throw a nice countertop on it, and you're all set!
Totally agree about using a kitchen cabinet! I went for a used pantry cabinet myself and loved it. I added extra shelves to make it fit our needs better. You can often find good deals at places like Habitat for Humanity! Just a heads up, any flat surface will fill up quickly, though.
Great idea! I'll definitely check out Habitat for Humanity. Thanks for the tip!
